Nakudla SharkFest Port Noarlunga Jetty - 7th November
- Duration: 90 Minutes (approx.)
- Location: Port Noarlunga
- Product code: Nakudla
Nakudla SharkFest! Who wants to swim with Nakudla!? Nakudla is the Kaurna word for shark. Join us for a guided snorkel with our "puppies of the sea" (Port Jackson sharks) at Port Noarlunga Reef Sanctuary Zone. Port Jackson sharks (PJ's) are small harmless sharks that feed on small crabs and shellfish. Learn why sharks are so important to the health of our reefs. In early November the PJ's come into shallow water to mate, lay eggs and rest - often aggregating in the hundreds on one small area of the reef. The Port Noarlunga Reef has been an Aquatic Reserve since 1971 and Sanctuary Zone since 2014 so is also home to an amazing variety of colourful fish, algae and plant life.
Please save the dates - Save both 7th and 14th November in your calendar. This event is scheduled for Saturday 7th November but if the event is cancelled we will reschedule all paid participants to Saturday 14th November. If the 7th November event goes ahead then EMS will run a second Nakudla SharkFest snorkel event on 14th November (with those on 14th November waiting list getting the first option to book tickets for the event).

Bring your own wetsuit and snorkelling gear (if you don't have your own snorkelling equipment we can provide free of charge).

You don't need snorkelling experience but you do need to be a good swimmer (swim any stroke to move through water at least 25m unassisted). Larger groups will be broken down to smaller groups with similarly experienced snorkelers in each group - this allows more assistance to those who require it.
